Christian Restoin introduced the men's shirt to womenswear with the launch of Equipment in 1975. Inspired by Hollywood stars Katherine Hepburn and Lauren Bacall, his debut collection was an instant hit with fashion's elite. Current/Elliott's Serge Azria relaunched the brand in 2010 with a collection of androgynous styles in luxurious silks, paying homage to the label's heritage while infusing it with contemporary edge.

The Label has serious style credentials, it’s owned by Carine Roitfeld’s partner Christian Restoin. (The couple met when Carine called in some Equipment pieces for a shoot.) It was because of Carine that Restoin shut the label: when she was appointed editor-in-chief of French Vogue in 2001 he decided to concentrate on Carine’s career.

In the 90s, it seemed as though every woman had an Equipment shirt in her wardrobe. Sold in the famous large London stores, the shirts were made of silk, washed, knitted or satin and came in two cuts, loose or slim.

Throughout the nineties they were a wardrobe staple – the Princess of Wales wore them, and they were regularly featured in editorial.

Returns

If for any reason you are unhappy with your goods, you have the right to return them and receive a full refund provided:

(a) the goods are returned to: 35 Timber Hill, Norwich, NR1 3LA, United Kingdom within 14 days of your order being delivered to you; and (b) the goods are returned in their original condition, have not been damaged, washed, altered or excessively worn and include the original packaging and any related accessories or instruction books.
